GT Identification

GT Identification

How does Littlefield ISD identify Gifted and Talented Students?

Once a referral is submitted ro the student meets the screener qualifying score, the campus GT Coordinator will request permission to evaluate for services from the parent. This document must be signed and returned to the school to continue with the GT evaluation.

The GT evaluation consists of two quantative assessments (usually ability and creativity) that the student will take after permission is obtained, and 1-2 qualitative assessments, the teacher and/or parent surveys, also completed after permission.

The GT Coordinator on the campus will compile all data from the evaluations and present the information to the campus GT Selection Committee. Based on the committee’s decision, the parent of the referred student will receive a letter stating if the student was identified as Gifted and Talented.
