GIFTED & TALENTED OVERVIEW
The Littlefield ISD recognizes the gifted and talented student as one whose abilities, talents, and potential for accomplishment are so outstanding that they require a variety of special provisions to meet their educational needs. As students, they represent all races, socioeconomic groups, geographic locales, and environments. As adults, they are leaders in government, medicine, invention, creative arts, communication, philosophy, industry, science, and many other fields. The Littlefield ISD seeks to offer educational opportunities appropriate to each student’s ability, including providing for the unique needs of the gifted and talented.
The ultimate goal of the LISD’s Gifted and Talented program is to provide experiences whereby students will be challenged academically, socially, and emotionally to achieve their greatest potential to manage change and to have a sense of responsibility for self, school, community, and society.
Parents of Gifted & Talented students are encouraged to look into the parent tools and resources provided by the Texas Association for the Gifted & Talented (TAGT) and the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC).
